Around these Holiday Cottages between Barmouth and Harlech
The cottages are at the edge of the coastal village of Dyffryn Ardudwy which has a post office, award-winning butchers, small grocery shop and petrol garage. There are 2 cafés (1 with internet access) where you can enjoy a cooked breakfast or delicious light lunches, and 2 lovely village pubs where you can enjoy home cooked meals.
The popular seaside town of Barmouth is 5 miles to the south, and Harlech with its impressive castle is 5 miles to the north.
There are many steam railways to visit including the Snowdon Mountain Railway, the Welsh Highland Railway, the Talyllyn Railway, and Ffestiniog Railway. There are historic castles at Cricieth and Harlech and the world famous Italianate village of Portmeirion (used for the TV series 'The Prisoner') is nearby.
There are numerous activities to enjoy including walking, climbing and mountain biking. The Coed-y-Brenin mountain biking centre is to the north of Dolgellau. You can also walk or bathe at the local award winning sandy beaches.
Holiday Cottage Surroundings
You can relax in the tranquil surroundings around the holiday cottages. There is a communal garden with sea views. There are free-range chickens and ducks, and you'll probably find it quite amusing seeing them going on their daily walks to and from the duck pond, especially 'Roger' who's the lonely duck, and has been ostracised from the group. By now, he's quite happy being amongst the chickens and even see's off the cockrels! The cottages have the use of the hot tub which has views across to the Lleyn Peninsula.
Ample grazing plus storage for tack is available at Y Buarth, so you can bring your horse on holiday with you, and enjoy the local bridleways, or ride on the beach.
